I stand accused of so many crimes
Just to cloud the fact we passed our last time
Deception, manipulation, lies
Spring showers of debris only some fall in place
Night seems endless alone
Eyes petrify on one small light
I grind my teeth so my jaw won't fall off
I squeeze my lids shut
So my eyes won't slip out
I only hear screaming in the silence
Always looking over my shoulder
For expectations I can't match
Now as the year drags on
Am I moving forward or have I seen this tree before?
Are you stalking me or is this just my shadow?
I know I have what it takes
But grimy hands claw at my clothes
My shoes trudge in the muck
Wake up from limbo and go home
